Blog 18 - Interview 3 Reflection

    1. What is the most important thing I learned from the interview?
      • The most important thing I learned in this interview was how highly individual this field is and how much "design" and "development" overlap. Individuality is a key aspect because almost every step in the process can be done by just one person. You can learn to code by yourself. You can expand your skill set and learn as you go. Also, individuality can refer to clients. You can get many different types and each one will be wanting something different and in turn bring with them a whole host of problems that you may or may not have encountered before. This is where development and design comes into play, because both concepts can benefit from the skills necessary to be able to do one or the other. For instance, design may purely focus on aesthetics and artistic integrity while development will try to bring the design to life through logic, practicality, and cold hard code. So basically, it will be beneficial if you have experience and knowledge in both realms in order to ensure a smooth workflow for all those involved.
    2. How has your approach to interviewing changed over the course of your senior project?
      • I think my approach to interviewing has improved at least a little bit but it is mostly due to, I would say, being slightly on the shy side is my biggest downfall. I would say that it has helped me in trying to become less awkward but maintaining a semblance of professionalism at the same time. I think practice makes perfect slightly less terrible, so I would say that I have improved in terms of asking open ended questions and follow up questions/improvising, but in terms of how these questions are asked could always use some work.
