- Describe in detail what you plan to do for your 30 hours.
- I plan on taking courses at Udacity which is an online resource that offers access to their course materials for free. Some classes I'm planning to take and the syllabus:
- Discuss how or what you will do to meet the expectation of showing 30 hours of evidence.
- Each course has an approximate time in its description ranging from 3 weeks to 3 months assuming that 1 hour each day for a week is dedicated to the course.
- Intro to HTML and CSS | ~ 3 Weeks
- JavaScript Basics | ~ 3 Weeks
- How to Use Git and GitHub | ~ 3 Weeks
- Programming Foundations with Python | ~ 6 Weeks
- Intro to Computer Science | ~ 3 Months
- Intro to HTML and CSS | JavaScript Basics | How to Use Git and GitHub: I could spend 1 hour for each course a day in order to complete it in the estimated 3 weeks.
[1 hour x 3 courses per day = 3 hours][3 hours x 6 days = 18 hours][18 hours per week = 54 hours for 3 weeks] - Programming Foundations with Python: I could spend 2 hours a day on the course in order to complete it at a shorter amount of time than the estimated 6 weeks.
[2 hours each day x 6 days = 12 hours per week][12 hours per week x 3 weeks = 36 hours] - Intro to Computer Science: I could dedicate 2 hours a day to this course to try and complete it earlier than the estimated 3 months it takes to finish. However, I will leave this course as a possible course I will take if myself or my mentor sees that it will be beneficial to the project after completing the other 4 courses outlined here.
- Explain how what you will be doing will help you explore your topic in more depth.
- Considering that I never formally learned programming or mark-up languages and it would be inconvenient to ask my mentor to teach me these from scratch, learning them on my own will help me learn ways to improve how codes are written or make the process simpler and less time consuming which may allow me to help my mentor to improve his system just like he proposed we could do over the course of my mentorship.
- Update your Senior Project Hours log.
